Acoustic Funeral (for Love in Limbo)
Black Sabbath have a song called “Electric Funeral” so the title is something like a homage. When I wrote the song I was reading a lot of TS Eliot. The famous line: “This is the way the world ends. Not with a band but with a whimper” is by him. I mixed that with the vibe of Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy the Silence” (laughs). I thought about how there’s often just silence at the end. It’s about preparing for the moment when everything is said and done even though you really like that person. Even though it’s a hopeful song.
